Privacy policy

What we collect, who receives it, how long we keep it, and how to make us delete it.

Last updated 21 September 2026. Each revision changes this date, so you can see at a glance whether the version you read last time is still current.

1. Information we collect

When you sign up for study alerts we collect your name, email address, the area of study you chose and your mobile number. We also keep a record of each box you ticked: the wording, the date and time, the page, and your IP address and browser.

If you contact the Study Information Center we collect what you tell us in that call or email, which may include the condition you are asking about and your general location.

We also collect technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information and pages viewed.

We do not collect payment information, insurance details, Social Security numbers or medical records through this website. There is nothing to pay for here. Anything of that kind sent to us anyway is deleted.

2. How we use your information

We use your mobile number to send the study alerts you asked for, and for nothing else, until you opt out. We use what you tell the Study Information Center to answer your question and to point you to a study site if you ask us to.

We use technical data to keep the site working and secure and to understand traffic in aggregate. We do not use your information for advertising, and we do not build a profile of you.

3. Data sharing and disclosure

Your personal information will not be sold or leased to any third party. We mean that without qualification, including under the broader definitions of “sale” and “sharing” used by California and other state privacy laws.

We share information with the service providers who host this site and deliver our email and text messages, each acting only on our instructions and only to provide that service. If you ask us to put you in touch with a study site, we share what you have given us with that site, and we name it before we send anything.

We also disclose information where a valid legal process requires it, or to a regulator where we are obliged to.

Your mobile information will not be shared with any third party for marketing purposes. No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Information gathered in the SMS program is not shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes. All of the categories above exclude text messaging originator opt-in data and consent; this information will not be shared with any third parties.

4. Clinical study data is separate

This policy covers the website only. If you enrol in one of our studies, the information collected during that study is governed by the informed consent form you sign at the study site, by the study protocol, and by the applicable research regulations — not by this page.

Westbridge Clinical Studies sponsors studies; the sites that run them are the ones providing your care and holding your medical record. Each site is generally a HIPAA covered entity and its own notice of privacy practices applies from the point it receives your information. As a sponsor we normally receive study data in coded form, identified by a participant number rather than your name.

5. Cookies and tracking technologies

Cookies here are limited to what keeps the site running and what shows us overall traffic. Your browser settings let you block or clear cookies, though parts of the site may then stop working properly.

There are no advertising cookies here and no third-party trackers that follow you elsewhere.

6. Data security

What you send travels encrypted and is stored on systems only authorised staff can open. Only the staff who run the alerts program and the Study Information Center can read what you submit.

No way of sending data over the internet can be made completely safe. Should a breach ever touch your information, we will tell you and the authorities in the way the law sets out.

We keep alert subscriptions until you opt out, and for 12 months after that so we can honour the opt out. Study Information Center enquiries are kept for two years.

7. Your rights

Ask us at any time to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, and we will confirm in writing once it is done.

Texts stop when you reply STOP to any of them, or when you ask us to switch them off.

Residents of California and some other states have additional rights under their own privacy laws. Everyone gets the choices above, wherever they live. This site is not for anyone under 18 and we do not knowingly collect information about children through it.
